Rules & Regulations
River Rapids Waterpark wants all of our guests to have the most fun possible in a safe and friendly environment. Below are our park rules. We appreciate you following our rules while at the waterpark, and hope you have the best time ever!
- For admission pricing purposes: Guests 2 years of age & under free, 3-12 years of age are considered children, 13-61 years are considered adults, and 62 years and older are considered seniors.
- All guests 12 years of age or under must be accompanied by a reasonable adult, age 16 or older. Any guests 13 years of age or older are permitted inside the Waterpark without an adult present.
- Everyone must take a cleansing shower before entering the pool. No one should enter the water unless properly washed.
- Those swimming must wear swimming suits, swimming trunks, or a reasonable alternative upon entry into the water. Some clothing such as cut-offs, gym shorts, and underwear are not permitted as a swimwear substitute. If one is not wearing a proper bathing suit, undergarments must be worn under swimming suit alternatives.
- Per the Missouri State Health Code, all children in diapers must wear swim diapers in the pools. These are available for purchase. Please change all diapers in the restroom facilities.
- Do not run inside the Waterpark. Walk around concrete areas.
- Only Coast Guard approved life jackets are permitted. An adult, age 16 or older, must always accompany a child wearing a flotation device. Pool toys are not permitted.
- River Rapids Waterpark provides lounge chairs for your use on the deck. Do not move lounge furniture; their location is set by staff.
- No outside food or drink is permitted. The only exception is for birthday party rentals, which may bring in cupcakes or a cake in designated areas only.
- Management reserves the right to deny entrance to and/or remove individuals who display conduct that is rude, dangerous, or endangers the safety or quiet comfort of others. Loud personal music or video is prohibited if it is audible to other guests.
- Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to enter the Waterpark. This is an alcohol-free facility.
- Smoking and using any other type of tobacco products, including vaping or e-cigarettes with or without tobacco, chewing tobacco, or snuff, or consuming any inhaled substance, other than that prescribed by a medical doctor, is not permitted anywhere within the Waterpark. Should you choose to leave the Waterpark to smoke off the property, children under the age of 13 are not permitted to remain in the Waterpark unattended. This is a tobacco free campus.
- River Rapids Waterpark is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Lockers are provided in the locker area if you wish to secure your belongings. Please secure your possessions.
- Pets are not permitted in the Waterpark. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome, but per health codes, are not permitted into the water.
- The pools and tower will be cleared of all persons during thunder and lightning for a minimum of 30 minutes (adding 30 minutes to each instance of thunder and lightning). You may seek shelter in designated spaces during inclement weather.
- Staff reserves the right to check bags or backpacks at any time as a condition of entry into the Waterpark. No coolers allowed.
- The first time a guest forgets his/her membership card, they will be admitted upon verification of membership. The next time a membership card is forgotten, a fee may be required to cancel and replace the card.
- Membership cards must be presented upon entrance, each time, and are non-transferable. If a card is used by someone other than the authorized user, it will be confiscated. If it is determined that the owner of the card is responsible for the unauthorized use of the card, the owner may lose their membership, without refund, for the remainder of the season.
- Lost or stolen cards should be reported to the pool cashiers immediately.
- Guests who exit the Waterpark must pay again for re-entry. Season pass holder may enter and exit the park throughout operating hours.
- Season pass holders may enter the park 15 minutes prior to the opening of the park, but cannot enter the water or slides until the park opens entirely.
- Pool occupancy capacity must not be exceeded at any time. Therefore, management reserves the right to deny admission to prevent overcrowded conditions when necessary.
- No unauthorized persons are permitted in the Waterpark after regular scheduled hours. Trespassers will be prosecuted.
- In the event of an unexpected full park closure rainy-day passes will only be offered to customers that have been in the park for less than 2 hours from purchase. Customers must present receipt to receive their rainy-day pass.
- Only children under 48” will be permitted in the tot pool. They must always be accompanied by a responsible adult (age 16 years or older) while near the water.
- Children should ride the slides in the feet-first position, and should not attempt to climb up the slide.
- Only one guest may ride the play feature slide at a time.
- Jean shorts or swim trunks with metal zippers, eyelets, or buttons are not permitted.
- Do not climb up the slide, on the pipes, or handrails.
- Fulcrum must be left in the forward-most position.
- Only one person at a time is permitted on the diving board, including the diving board ladder.
- Children must be able to swim without assistance in order to use the diving boards. No flotation devices are allowed when going off the diving board.
- Goggles or masks are not permitted when using the diving boards.
- Only one bounce is permitted.
- Dives must be straight off the end of the board.
- Diving must be in designated areas of the pool with a depth of more than 9 feet.
- Inward dives and gainers are prohibited.
- Any dive that is initiated standing backwards on the board is prohibited.
- Sit dives, cartwheels, and other non-standard dives are not permitted.
- Divers should swim immediately to the nearest ladder and climb out. Loitering around the ladder is not allowed.
- All spectators shall be on the far side of the ladder when divers are going off the boards.
- Individuals are not permitted to catch children jumping from the diving boards.
- Those children using this feature who are not able to swim on their own must be accompanied by a responsible adult in the water, age 16 or over, at all times.
- Guests must enter and exit only at designated areas, not from the side of the river.
- Guests must be in a tube at all times.
- Please place your tube in a tube corral upon exiting the river.
- Guests must not stop, walk the opposite way, hang on the wall, or swim freely.
- Do not stack or stand on tubes.
- All riders must be at least 48” tall.
- Maximum rider weight
- Body Slide: 1 person, 300 lbs
- Mat Racer: 1 person, 300 lbs
- Single tube: 1 person, 250 lbs
- Double tube: 2 person, 500 lbs
- *The heavier riders should sit behind the lighter rider.
- Plunge pool water depth is 3 ft 6 in.
- Non-swimmers are not permitted.
- Do not propel yourself into the ride.
- Only one rider at a time. Absolutely no trains or chains of riders are permitted.
- No running, standing, kneeling, rotating, tumbling, or stopping in the flume.
- Arms and hands must always remain inside the flume at all times.
- Riders should remain in proper riding position until forward movement is terminated.
- At no time should the rider attempt to stand up while on the slide or prior to coming to a complete stop in the splash out area.
- No combs or foreign objects are allowed in pockets and no jewelry can be worn while riding the slide.
- No cut off jeans or swim wear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, or metal ornamentation.
- Only approved swim suits allowed.
- The line should form on the deck with one rider on each landing and one rider in the starter tub. Wait until landing area is clear before entering.
- Riders must be in good health. Elderly persons, those suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, or persons using prescription medication should consult their physician before using the slide. Individuals with medical conditions including, but not limited to pregnancy, heart, or back problems should not ride.
- Do not use the slides while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- No diving from the slide.
- Leave the plunge pool or runout promptly after entering.
- Body Slide
- All riders must ride feet first while lying on their back with arms crossed across their chest.
- Do not go down the slide head first.
- Do not sit up while riding the slide.
- No tubes, mats, or life jackets are permitted on the water slide.
- Tube Slide
- All riders must be sitting in the tube with feet first and holding onto the tube handles.
- Mat Slide
- All riders must lay on their front, head-first, and holding onto the handles of their mat.
- Riders must wait for instructions from the lifeguard stationed at the slide starter tub.
- You must be able to swim to use this feature.
- Users must wait their turn until the previous user reaches the 3rd log before starting to cross.
- Pushing, shoving or trying to knock someone off the feature is not permitted.
- If the user falls off before reaching the other side, he/she must exit the area immediately.
- Recreational swimming is not permitted in this area.
- You must be able to swim to use this feature.
- Maximum weight is 250 lbs.
- Only one climber is allowed at a time on the AquaClimb wall.
- Only one swimmer at a time in the drop zone.
- No diving or back flips. Feet first entries only.
- Flotation devices are not permitted.
